Aparupa Poddar (Afrin Ali) of TMC (alliance: Others) won in this seat defeating CPM. TMC polled 7,48,764 of the total of 13,61,934 votes polled. CPM won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Arambagh goes to the polls in the 5st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Monday, May 6, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
