Vasanthi M of AIADMK (alliance: NDA) won in this seat defeating PTTL. AIADMK polled 4,24,586 of the total of 10,17,939 votes polled. CPI won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Tenkasi goes to the polls in the 2st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Thursday, April 18, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
