Muddahanumegowda S P of INC (alliance: UPA) won in this seat defeating BJP. INC polled 4,29,868 of the total of 11,01,484 votes polled. BJP won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Tumkur goes to the polls in the 2st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Thursday, April 18, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
