Kothapalli Geetha of YSRCP (alliance: Others) won in this seat defeating TDP. YSRCP polled 4,13,191 of the total of 9,09,614 votes polled. INC won the seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.
Araku goes to the polls in the 1st phase of the 2019 General Elections to choose the 17th Lok Sabha on Thursday, April 11, 2019. The election results for the seat are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2019.
